What's New in Turkey 2008?

During the recent past there have been a number of obvious factors affecting the level of tourism in Turkey like War and conflict, the rise of world terrorism and Bird Flu to mention just a few. As for Turkey, well not much has changed safety-wise for a decade or more. Visitors still enjoy all that Turkey has to offer in a welcoming and safe environment, returning home with stories of a much maligned country that was just the opposite of their preconception.

2007 again saw no upturn in the number of visitors despite there being no obvious reason for numbers not to get back to pre-September 11 levels.

New Season, New Prospects

Istanbul-Bodrum Ferry

Not so much of a ferry more of a mini-cruise, the new twice weekly ferry service between Istanbul and Bodrum launched in 2006 went from strength to strength in 2007. The popularity of the Istanbul-Bodrum route has resulted in the Cesme service being dropped in 2008 in favor of an additional ferry each week to Bodrum.

Week End Cruise Bodrum-Santorini-Mykonos

After plying between Istanbul and Bodrum during the week the ferry boat MF Samsun becomes a cruise ship each weekend offering a mini-cruise to the Greek islands of Santorini and Mykonos.

Weekly Bodrum Cruise to the Greek Islands and Athens

New for the 2008 summer season we are offering weekly 7 day cruises every Monday from Bodrum to the Greek islands and Athens operated by EasyCruise. It's now easy to combine a tour of Turkey with a visit to Greece. This is a new concept in 'cruising' aimed at every age group from basic cabins to luxury suites. Prices start as low as low as Euro103 per person for a full week cruising, but it all depends on how early you book, as the ship fills up so the prices go up.

Italy-Turkey Ferries

Driving from Europe to Turkey is still proving to be a popular option with many of our clients. Despite the easing of cross-border formalities in some of the east European countries that are now members of the EU the journey is still long and difficult. From reports we have received it appears that someone should tell the border guards that they are now in Europe. It is no wonder then that our Italy-Turkey cruise-ferries continue to increase in popularity. Whether you plan to tour Turkey or visit your new home in the sun there is no substitute to bringing your own car.
