Located on the southern coast of Turkey and protected by the land mass to the north, the climate in this Mediterranean resort is normally very pleasant at any time of the year. Rainfall is higher than in the Aegean resorts, resulting in higher humidity during the summer.

Antalya is a busy university city, and the most important commercial center in the region.
